A Year in Review
This year has been a crazy, amazing year.
And it wouldn't be right if I didn't end it with a summary of the highlights.............through pictures, of course!
We started out the year with a couple trips to the snow-covered mountains. First, a trip with some friends to go snowmobiling.
And then another trip to the cabin - taking Carter this time. He had a lot of fun in his little snow suit! We tried food for the first time - which was a success. There hasn't been anything he has not liked. Whew!!
We learned to sit up all by ourselves.
We planned a wedding.
We took day trips to the mountains.
We also took fishing trips to the mountains.
We spent hours and hours at the pool........the little kiddie pool, and the BIG pool.
We introduced Carter to fireworks - which he really liked! I was quite nervous as to how he would react, but he liked them a lot.
We had a bridal shower for the bride.
We took engagement pictures.
We went camping without the child for the first time........seemed like a long weekend, but it was fun nonetheless!
We learned to crawl!!
We spent many nights at the ball field.
We visited with great-grandmas.
We went back to the cabin for a summer visit.
We went to the fair and saw goats and many other animals for the first time. We also rode a horse for the first time.
We had a bachelorette party............and I may have been intoxicated. Maybe.
We got married.
And took a fabulous honeymoon.
And when we got back, our little boy turned one year old.
And learned to walk!!
We made history. Well, I helped. The husband voted for the other guy.
We made discoveries.
And acted like monkeys.
And then visited more animals at the zoo!!
Overall, it's been a great year. Definitely one of the best years I have ever had and I can't wait to see what this new year has in store for us!

Typical Man!
I walked into my kitchen this evening to find this mess. And this is a typical man, right here. Swimsuit magazine? Check. One sock on, one sock off? Check. Pizza coupons? Check. He has all the necessary requirements to be a man - except the remote. Though I'm sure that's within arm's reach as well.
He was having quite a good time tearing apart the magazine.
And checking out his dinner options.
Apparently he's not too fond of this year's styles. Though I think he has a crush on the lady on page 18.
However, when I asked him to clean up?
He happily obliged. NOT your typical man.
Here you go, mama!
So I told him I refuse to be the middle man, and pulled out the trash can. And made him clean up his own mess.
How to Annoy Me
Tell me about a mess, but do nothing to clean it up.
Purely hypothetical, of course.
Husband (bellowing across the house): Wife, the child spilled his juice all over the carpet.
Wife: Ooooookay? Clean it up?
Husband: Did you give him a sippy cup with no lid?
Wife: Yes, that's something I would do - give him a sippy cup with NO lid. Makes perfect sense to me.
At this time, hypothetical wife goes to the site of the spill, at which, the husband is just standing there staring at the mess - hypothetically, of course.
Wife cleans up mess.
Once again - must be nice to be a man.

Movie Review: Reservation Road
The hubby wasn't too fond of this movie, calling it "wierd" from about 10 minutes into it, but I enjoyed it. It was a predictable movie, however....your typical kid gets hit by a car and the father seeks revenge. With some twists here and there.....but overall, I thought it was an excellent movie with some very raw scenes.

Christmas Day
Christmas Day, in a newfound tradition, is spent at our house with Eric's family. It worked out really well last year, so we decided to try it again this year. I think it's awesome. We don't have to pack up all of Carter's Christmas presents and when he's ready for a nap, he can sleep in his own crib. It works out well, in my opinion.
So, Eric's mom, step-dad, sisters, and dad came over yesterday and we had a great time!
Carter and his Aunt Ashley.
Carter and Grandma Michelle. Carter and Aunt Ashley playing with the Car!
Carter and his Aunt Janelle.
My husband and his new girlfriend, the PS3 and Guitar Hero. 'Nuff said.
Carter and Grandma Michelle reading one of the MANY books he received.
