Boise Photo Walk - Love That Shot - Photo Submission

So one of the great things about the photo walk with Love That Shot is the opportunity to submit one of your shots from the walk to the photo contest.  The winner gets a Lensbaby. I've never used one of these but would love to learn!! I had a hard time picking my favorite shot from the walk, but here is what I ultimately chose:

I love the vibrant colors and the big drop of water right in the center.

Thanks for sharing the photo walk with me - it was a super fun way to get out and explore the city with friends and my camera!

Boise Photo Walk: Part II

Here are some more shots from the Boise Photo Walk

This guy brought his daughter (I presume) and was letting her shoot with a little point-and-shoot camera. So cute!

Boise Photo Walk

Last weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Boise Photo Walk, put on by Love That Shot (visit them here: http://lovethatshot.com/lts/page/index.html)  We had an established walking route and I was very excited to do this walk as a way to (1) get outdoors and (2) shoot things that were out of my comfort zone (weddings, families, portrait). I was looking forward to getting lots of urban shots of downtown Boise.

The first stop on our walk was the Rose Garden. I'm not a rose fan at all, so I wasn't really thrilled with this portion, but I did snap some photos.  I will break apart my posts by categories.....the first one being plants/flowers.

 (SOOC)

And here is our group!

Project 52: Week Twenty-Four {texture}

I'm currently behind on all of my posts......working to get caught up!

{SOOC, with the exception that I cropped and straightened....otherwise, no enhancements}

The {S} Family

I met up with this family last week at Veteran's Park. It was a muggy evening down at the river, but this family was a lot of fun, and the little boy sure reminded me of Carter when he was younger.

Dairy Days....which turned into the Idaho Aquarium

This week was Dairy Days, and Carter has been talking about that parade for weeks now! That kid LOVES parades. So we told him earlier in the week that we would head to the parade and then do the carnival rides afterwards.  Little did we know, the carnival would be shut down for failing to pass an electrical inspection. So we were in a bind........we didn't know the carnival would be shut down all weekend, so we told Carter we would come back Saturday when the rides were fixed. Fail. The carnival was, in fact, shut down all weekend. So I had to find something else fun for the kids. We opted for the Idaho Aquarium simply because we hadn't been there before, and it was inside with air conditioning.  Here are the pictures from the parade and the aquarium.

 Naturally, with any sort of fair/carnival, corn dogs are a must!
 This girl LOVES corn dogs.

 Vroom, vroom! My favorite part of the parade is the Corvette Club!
The Idaho Aquarium is actually pretty cool, though admission is overpriced. But it was really fun to explore with Carter!

 I ended up buying some fish so that Carter and Eric could feed the sting rays and baby sharks.
One of the sting rays was incredibly friendly - even trying to "climb" the wall so it could be pet by people. What a ham!

Project 52: Week Twenty-Three {season}

End of spring, beginning of summer. Season. Flowers blooming. The bugs have come out. This isn't the best picture I have ever taken, but it's SOOC (straight out of camera). Nothing done to it, no editing, period. Pretty sweet......especially given the fact that it was taken at 9:30 at night at my ISO was only set to 800. I'm loving that.
