Aquadoodle

Carter's Aunt Ashley got him an Aquadoodle for Christmas and he has recently decided he LOVES it. Last night, he was quite the artist! And he seems to get quite into it - drawing from several different angles. And last night, he appeared quite tired since all his masterpieces were completed lying down.

I'm very excited that he has taken on this artistic adventure. I think it's very important for children to be able to imagine and create. Plus, it's FUN!

Random Babbling

So it's finally Friday. I'm happy about this for many reasons. I'm looking forward to another quiet weekend. We have a couple house issues to take care of.....such as the last set of wood blinds are going up in Carter's room today. I'm happy about that....all the blinds in the house will now match. And at some point, I think someone is coming out to measure all the windows for screens. Because there are none. And that bothers me. Why? Because the windows are old and have those weep (or is it weap?) holes. And those holes currently don't have any plugs. And what does that mean? Spiders, etc. are coming into my house. And I do.not.like.spiders. So. Having the screens on there will take care of the weep hole issue because let's face it - those huge suckers aren't going to get through the screen. I know, I know. They will find other ways. But this is why we are having a pest guy come out tomorrow morning and do a spider barrier. Inside AND out. Because I'm sick of walking into my kitchen barefoot in the mornings and stopping dead in my tracks due to a massive blood sucking vampire on the floor.
And I'm not talking about Edward. He would be welcome any time. Let me dive off-track here for a second. Have you Twilight fans read Midnight Sun? It's the same thing as Twilight, same scenes, same dialogue, etc. but told from Edward's point of view. It's awesome. I am loving it. I am reading it and New Moon at the same time. Well, you know what I mean.
So anyway - that's my weekend pretty much. Nothing planned. We will probably do family swim tomorrow. And I'm hoping to get a little bit of grocery shopping in as well. Hopefully it remains this relaxed.
Have a great weekend!!

What Just Happened Here?

I know these pictures greatly resemble yesterday's pictures. Same room. Same child. However, since that time, my husband thought it would be a good idea to buzz cut the child's hair. That's not my idea of a GOOD idea. The child walked out and I winced. I can't help it. I will try to like it. Thoughts?

To the Cookie Lady

To the Cookie Lady:

It was so nice of you to stop by our office and pass out cookies while promoting your business. Really. I appreciate it. Why? Because we all know I LOVE cookies.
So, this?

is appreciated.

However, while I do appreciate your cute little bag and ribbon, it makes it HELL to get into when you double and triple knot the stupid ribbon. Seriously. I just took my nails off, so there's no way I can untie the ribbon. I tried with my teeth, to no avail. Panic set in. I finally grabbed the scissors (something a cookie-crazy person should NOT have) and shredded your cute little bag.

Nothing gets between me and my cookie. Next time, just forego the cute little wrapping and just hand me the cookie. I don't care that you have touched it. I'll eat it anyway.

Signed,

Cookie-crazy Lady.

I Love Your Face

I am currently obsessed with this kid's face.....and those big, blue eyes. He's going to be a heartbreaker, little girls. Watch out. (yes, this was today. yes, he still has the shiner. I retouched the photos. Eric calls it cheating. Whatever. I guess I cheat.)

Shiner

Hi guys!!! Notice anything different about me?

No?
How 'bout here.

Or.....here.

I took quite the fall at daycare today and came out of it with a cool shiner! My mom wasn't too impressed but I think it makes me look tough. Battle wounds, ya know?
xoxo (my mom totally made me put that)

Smile!

The hubby is out fishing today, so the child and I are enjoying a quiet Sunday.

Movie Review: Twilight

First of all, I never had any intention of ever watching this movie. I am a loyal Harry Potter fan and I feel as though I am cheating on my beloved Harry by showing any interest in this series. I have not read any of the Twilight books. So I went into this movie not knowing what the heck was going on, or what details I was missing out on from the book.

Having said that? I'm hooked. I love me some Edward. I love the story. My mother-in-law just dropped off the first two books for me to read and I plan on diving right into those. I actually probably won't read the first one now that I have seen the movie. So I will start with book two.

But the movie? It was excellent. I really enjoyed it and I do recommend it even for people who aren't going to read the book.

Movie Review: Death Race

This movie was definitely not something I wanted to see. I was ready to turn it off after the first five minutes. But for the sake of Jason Statham, I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. It was actually quite a good movie with some really cool special effects. And if you have surround sound? Even better!

Fun in the Sun

It was over 70 degrees today!! Definitely a day to take the child to the park. There is a park right around the corner from our house....there were lots of little kids there today. I think we will become regulars!

A Tour

Welcome to our new home.

Come in the front door and follow me. I'll show ya around. ;-)

Our living room.....view from the front door.
If you turn around, this is our entry way...and the front door, obviously. :)
More of the living room. The tile on the fireplace will be replaced within a month. I can't stand the white tile or the cheap wood trim.
The breakfast nook.
The kitchen...and the boy having a snack.
View from the breakfast nook back out into the living room.
Guest bedroom....and someone playing with something they shouldn't be.
Carter's room....which is lacking decoration/wall art. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
And I heard some pounding while I was taking pictures, so I had to come see what all the commotion was.
He was quite into it!
Guest bathroom.
Laundry room (taken a couple days ago)
Back across the living room, just to the side of the front door, is the entrance to our bedroom. There was just empty space, so I added some stuff.
Our bedroom....which is also lacking wall art. I'll get on it, I promise.
Master bath......my favorite room. It's huge.
Separate tub and shower.
Shower is over here. Behind that door is the toilet. I'm not sure why it requires its own room.
His closet.
My closet. My favorite part of the whole house.....separate closets. :-)
Outside in the back yard....the boy is quite thrilled about the yard.
And Dada is quite thrilled with the shed!!

And that's our home. Sorry I am lacking in details....I am fighting off a sinus infection and not in the mood to blog. *gasp*
