Our Thanksgiving Adventure

Thanksgiving is relatively low key for us. We split the day - the first half with my family and the second half with Eric's family. By the end of the day, our bellies are beyond full and we have leftovers for days. I took the camera along this year, though I didn't really get a whole lot of pictures. I also grabbed some with my phone.

Morning cartoons - this is her preferred seat. Gotta love it!

Tried to grab some of the kids together, but Kendall wouldn't sit still to save her life, nor would she give me a real smile. Eh, it is what it is.

My Aunt Taunya hosted this year, so the kids started pigging out the second we got there. Kendall had already been snacking for hours, "helping" me get the veggie tray prepped.

The two most important ladies in my life.

Kendall making some music with her Papa.

Here are some of the phone pics.

Matt was seriously rocking the no-shave November Super Troopers mustache. I could hardly hold a conversation with him without giggling.

I tried several times to get Kendall to take a nap. When she finally hit meltdown status, I made her sleep for about an hour before we headed over to Eric's family. She was fighting that nap like crazy. She managed the rest of the night really well, but the next morning (below), she slept in, making up for the short nap. Her little mouth cracks me up. Deep sleep, I guess!

I had my camera with me at Eric's family's gathering, but it never left my purse. There was too much visiting going on, and then games afterwards.

Orange is the New Black

Are you watching this show?  You should be.  I'm not sure how we stumbled upon this show, but I was hooked instantly.  It's a Netflix original, meaning you can only watch it on Netflix streaming.  I hear there will be more and more shows like this, which is awesome because then there aren't all the "rules" of network TV. Let's face it, those shows get boring.  This is a show with true grit, and it's based on a true story revolving around a women's prison, the staff, inmates, stigma, environment, etc.  It is a fantastic show and I highly recommend it!

Here is a little blurb from Wikipedia:

Orange Is the New Black is an American comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan that first released on Netflix on July 11, 2013. The series, produced by Lionsgate Television, is based on Orange Is the New Black by Piper Kerman, a memoir about her experiences in prison. Orange Is the New Black stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman, a woman imprisoned for transporting drug money. The series also stars Laura Prepon as Alex Vause, a drug dealer and Piper's ex-girlfriend; Michael J. Harney as prison counselor Sam Healy; Kate Mulgrew as the inmate cook "Red," and Jason Biggs as Piper's fiancé, Larry Bloom.

A Weekend Recap

I didn't have one shoot this weekend. It felt so foreign to me! It's been a while since that has happened and I hardly knew what to do with myself. On Friday, Carter's class had a short Thanksgiving thing, where they sang a couple songs. It was really cute! There were some kids who didn't have a clue what was going on, and another little girl who was incredibly bossy and telling everyone when they were doing it wrong. It was a riot!

For the rest of the weekend, I pretty much did nothing and it felt sooooooo nice. I did some editing, some reading, some napping, and a lot of scrapbooking. I can't imagine a more perfect weekend leading into a holiday week.

Nichole & Dylan {maternity}

I have done a couple shoots with Nichole and her boys, but Dylan was new to the clan. It was chilly and rainy for their shoot, but we made it! And there's a baby coming in December - can't wait for that shoot!

Austin & Andrea {engagement}

I will be doing these love birds' wedding next year, but first, we had to do engagement photos! We met up in downtown Boise, near the library, for some city shots, and then walked over to the Greenbelt to get some others. It was kind of an awkward shoot because Austin doesn't like being in front of the camera. Definitely made for some difficult posing, and even the candids. Hopefully he loosens up at their wedding!
