Champs!

I didn't get to see nearly as many of Carter's baseball games as I typically do - meaning ALL of them. Since Matt and I were coaching the girls in softball, this limited our ability to see Carter's games, as most were played at the same time.  Thankfully, my parents were able to be the score updaters while we were coaching.

Carter made it to AAA Majors this year, which is the highest division, and definitely the most competitive. He was nervous right off the bat (pun intended), but managed to hang with the other players the majority of the season.  The team made it to the championship game and WON the whole thing! It was a great ending to a hard-fought season, and I sure hope the taste of sweet victory propels Carter into another season.

Our softball team had a really good season. We ended up making it to the championship game as well, and ended up losing by just one run in extra innings. It was one heck of a championship game, and definitely one the girls should be proud of! I know both Addie and Kendall are looking forward to many more years of softball, and I'm sure excited to be right there with them.

Capitol Classic Kids Run

Every single year, Carter misses the Fun Run at Meridian High School due to the MYBS Extravaganza. This year, I received a flyer about the Capitol Classic Kids Run, which is for kids 6-14 years old and is a one-mile course starting at the Boise Train Depot and ending at the Capitol Building. Carter immediately decided he wanted to do the run. I think starting all 1,200 kids at the same time was completely idiotic, as the cluster really added to Carter's run time, but he had a great time!

All-Star Softball

Addie was invited to try out for the MYBS 10U all-star team following a great season. The girls have a lot of potential......just waiting for the coaching to rise to the occasion. Their first tourney was a friendly (meaning no fees or champion, just experience playing at a higher level of competition). The team went 2-1 overall and I think they all learned a lot!

Day Trip / Granite Creek-Rabbit Creek-Arrowrock

Another day trip adventure over Memorial Day Weekend was up Granite Creek to Rabbit Creek, and then over to Arrowrock. The fishing wasn't as good this day, but the adventure was still a fun one!  The kids had a blast riding in the back of the truck as soon as we hit dirt roads. Once we got to Arrowrock, there was a complete downpour of rain/hail, so we booked it to the truck to wait out the storm. This late spring weather in Idaho sure is fun!!
