Another Last...

...their last day of school together. It's a tough road, motherhood. There are all these books and things to guide you in raising them...but nothing really teaches you how to let them go.

Roots + wings, kiddos.

Happy 1-5

Happy 1-5 to this wild child of mine! She is such an incredible human - still just all light and rainbows and sparkles. There's hardly ever a moment where she isn't full of joy with a smile on her face. I hope it's an incredible year, kiddo!

Easter Weekend

Now that the kids are older, we really don't do a ton for Easter anymore. They did find some eggs in the front yard (though I do have to say, the softball fundraiser I did (second year in a row) was really underwhelming with what they put inside the eggs).  We spent quite a bit of time outside as well as just generally being lazy.

The One With Enchiladas

We had Addie over for dinner and of course, the meal request was my cheesy chicken enchiladas...everyone's favorite!  It was delicious, and we had such a good time visiting with Addie.

Sweethearts Dance

It's no secret that Kendall is boy-crazy. It's been the challenge of my life thus far, but I am fairly sure we are all going to survive it. There's been this boy who she has been talking to for a little while now. He asked her to go to the Sweethearts Dance, so we had a fun time shopping for dresses for her. The dance was clear out in Star, so it was an exercise in handing over some responsibility and letting them have some fun. They are both super shy together (shy is never a word I would use to describe Kendall), so I think they got some dancing in. Sounds like they had a fun night together.

In Her Wild Habitat

If you ask Kendall one of her favorite things to do, thrifting is sure to be near the top of the list.  She always finds the best stuff, and shopping with her is a hoot!

Christmas!

What a wonderful Christmas this year. It was pretty quiet, by design, and we loved that! We decided to do the usual Christmas Eve celebration with my parents and basically forego everything else. It often seems like we are running to all corners of the valley, with a small amount of time at each stop and leaving us exhausted by the time it's all said and done. So this year, we made one stop and stayed at home for the rest. And let me just say, it was glorious!

Isn't AI fun?

A UFC glove signed by his favorite fighter...what?!!?!? That smile says it all.

Another AI creation - a Rockwell-inspired painting from a picture of Carter and Kendall. Definitely at the top of my list of favorite pictures of them.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Thanksgiving Break

Randy's girls flew in for Thanksgiving this year, so we had a busy week trying to make the most of their time here.  We had an early birthday celebration for Piper - she turns 18 on Dec 7th - so that everyone could get together to celebrate her.  Randy took all the girls thrifting for hours one day - what a brave soul!  They all survived and found some great treasures.  We also went to dinner and then to see Zootopia 2 down in BODO.  What a great movie!  Then the usual family dinners for Thanksgiving.  And to top it all off, Dana and the boys got a puppy!  He was definitely the star of the show - what a cutie!
