July's Literary Adventures

July brought some pretty good reads. I took my time with the James Rollins' book as his tend to be a little more complex and technical. Side Trip was definitely a great read with one hell of a twist at the end.

Hoping to get quite a few more books in for August!

4th of July Fun

It was quite the subdued 4th this year....... 'rona just won't let us do anything fun. What a buzz kill that chic is.

We did make the most of it. Even though there wasn't the big parade with the water fight at the end, we still did our own little fireworks show, while taking in a TON of baseball the entire weekend, playing in the river, and then watched the Meridian Speedway fireworks display.

Champs!

Even though we were not able to have a spring softball season, the league decided to still pursue an all-star summer season. I was thrilled and immediately jumped into that coaching venture. I was fairly nervous based on our tryout turn-out, but these girls surprised us all. While it was definitely a rocky start, they showed up each day and put in the work. It culminated in a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP for the girls, and I could not be more proud of them!

Let's Get Outside

So the whole 'rona thing can really take its toll on those who are active, outdoorsy people. Our family has definitely felt the crunch, as well as the need to just get outside.....ANYWHERE outside. Day trips, greenbelt walks, etc. Whatever it takes. We have not been out to the Swan Falls area in so long, so we took a drive out there recently to cool off.

Closing out Football

The shortest "season" ever.

Thanks, 'rona.

Carter really did have an incredible season for flag football. His growth spurt shot him up to one of the biggest kids on the team - something that he has not yet experienced!  He played QB 95% of the time, and had a blast!
