Summer Vibes

Whew!  It has been a HOT, HOT week. Thankfully, the kids broke out their slip 'n slide after a hot softball practice. It was the perfect way to cool off. I figured they would be "too old" for this type of thing, but you throw a little dish soap on it, and it's now EXTREME slip 'n slide!  ;)

The Mountains Are Calling, and I Must Go

I actually recently purchased a t-shirt with that exact saying.  We plan to embrace it as often as possible this year, though the softball schedule definitely cuts into camping time. However, we will make it happen!  We had the chance this last weekend to get up Calf Pen Road, which is outside of Council. It was a short day-trip, but the mountain air does the trick every time!

Last Day of School!

This school year has been a complete roller coaster. No other description needed. I'm sure glad it's over with, and I know the kids would agree. Here's to hoping next school year looks much different....and better!  I am super proud of all three, however. Their resilience in the midst of constant change, coupled with their good grades, sure makes us proud!

Memorial Day Weekend - Concussion Style

Leading into Memorial Day Weekend, I took quite the blow to the head in the form of a softball. So the actual long weekend itself was the best busy/lazy weekend we have had in a long time due to my needing to get some serious R&R. For those who know me, I have a hard time NOT being busy, unless there is a river and camp spot in the scenario, so there were many reminders from my family all weekend to "take it easy". So we did that. Sort of. ;)

Adventures up Succor Creek / Leslie Gulch

Sometimes you just have to take a day off of work and get out into the wild outdoors!

Summer Blast Off!

This team is still very much trying to find their identity. Super frustrating as a coach, but we just continue on with the grind and trying to mold these young ladies into great athletes and even better human beings. I know some day it will click for them, and I will be there, front row on my bucket, cheering them on!
