First Day of School!

Uh, summer? Where did you go? Somehow we are at the beginning of another school year.....the last year for both kids in their respective schools. 8th grade for Carter and 5th grade for Kendall. Hopefully this school year has a lot less interruption than last year.

It's That Time!

Camping time!

Don't get me wrong, I love softball.....but it sure put a damper on our desire to get up to the mountains a bunch this summer. Now that we have adjusted plans for softball, we are able to get some camping done. This last weekend felt a little more like fall camping, but there is not a better place in the world than sitting by the river with a good book, listening to the kids splash around in the water. There just isn't much that beats that!

July's Literary Adventures

July brought some pretty amazing books!

Hairpin Bridge was another raging success by Taylor Adams. I'm not sure he can write a bad book, to be honest. Dead by Dawn.....holy smokes. Best book of the month, for sure. This one started off with a bang and just didn't let up the entire book. It's been a minute since Tess Gerritsen put out a book, but I was eager to read her again. Choose Me was not her usual forensic/medical crime drama, but it still worked and I enjoyed the read.  The Stranger in the Mirror was a one-sitting read for me. I think it took me three hours to power through it - a quick and engaging read.
