The End of Summer Days

August sure was a busy month for us! We crammed in as much as we could before school started, and it sure was fun!  We hit the Caldwell Night Rodeo - my first time. It was a lot of fun, though those bleachers sure get old after a while. Definitely need to bring a blanket to sit on next time.

We also hit the fair before the heat settled back into the valley. The Splash Dogs were definitely our favorite - I think we could have just watched them all day!

We also hit Firebird for the Nightfire Races - definitely the best races to see.

We have also been spending several nights each week walking along various spots of the river to get Banks more leash trained. He does well for the most part, but definitely has set-backs that are frustrating. All in a day's work with a dog!

Now that summer is sort of winding down, we are bulking up the camping supplies for late summer/early fall camping. Can't wait!

It's a New School Year!

A first grader and a fourth grader......seriously?? They were both so ready for class today.....I dropped Kendall off first, and then told Carter to have a great day and headed to my car, but he grabbed my hand and said "no, walk me to my classroom mom!" I figured this would be the year he didn't want me to walk him to class......so glad I was wrong!

Pics

I had my heart set this last weekend on doing updated pictures of the kids. And then Canada burst into flames and we have settled into orange/red air quality alerts. Not ideal for outdoor picture taking. Or anything outdoors - poor Banks has been missing his nightly walks this last week. Maybe we'll just give in and get some masks. Anyway......I attempted some updated pictures of the kids, but the air was just gross, and thick with smoke. A lot of my images have a lot of noise, which drives me crazy. So for the time being, we will use these pictures, but I warned the kids that they were in for another session as soon as the air clears. They were super thrilled to hear that! ;)

K & A {adoption}

I did a shoot with Kari and Aaron a couple years ago. They were in the process of making their adoption book, and wanted some fun photos to capture their personalities for prospective birth moms. This year, they were finally matched with a mom who is due in a few weeks so we went out to get a few shots for the memory books.
