So.....three of us gals in the office are in charge of putting on .... SOMETHING .... for our office. Basically what happened was, my boss had three spare flat panel monitors and we wanted them. He charged us $35 for them. After we took them home, he sent out an e-mail to us three instructing that we are to take the $35 we would have given him, and do something for the firm. So, with the three of us, we have $105 total and we have NO CLUE what to do. We thought about catering in a nice lunch, but we are outdoors people and we thought it would be fun to do something outdoors. We thought about doing some sort of easter egg hunt, but we don't have enough time and certain people wouldn't want to participate. So we have thought about doing some sort of afternoon BBQ on a Saturday and open the invitation to family also. And I sort of like that idea.
But I was wanting to know if anyone has done something like this for their work and had a good idea for me.
ANY ideas and/or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!!

I've got some ideas.
that sounds like fun!!!
how about a kegger?! JUST KIDDING....kind of.
No ideas, but the BBQ sounds like a lot of fun!
oh goodness.... for me, this would be hell, but then again, i work for satan, so that goes without saying.
now, if i genuinely LIKED some of these people, i would totally jump on a bbq at a public park or forest preserve, call it a potlock and use the 105 to buy meat. then tell everyone to bring side items, like salad, buns, drinks, veggies, dips, chips, etc, and then that way, the most expensive part (meat) is paid for and people can bake/cook/buy and it'll all turn out a ok.
or if you worked for me, you'd be tortured that entire time. but then again. you work for normal people. :)
I am beginning to think that Lo and I were seperated at birth, lol...I was going to say the same thing that she said.
Company BBQ's are a great way to get together and have some fun, without all the pressures of work surrounding you.
Fresh air is good for everyone!!
