Driveway Adventures

We had a thrilling night of hanging out in the driveway last night. I'm kidding. It was pretty fun though. Eric went fishing all day yesterday and came home with a huge bucket FULL of fish. So he was cleaning and filleting (sp? anyone?) them in the driveway.....and I decided Carter and I would come hang out and join the slicing and dicing party. Carter cruised around in his walker, tormenting the cat and dog, eating Cheetos, and drinking juice. I was in charge of the camera - my usual role. :-]
Carter and Joey
Carter and Brittany. Brittany did not like the Cheeto Carter so kindly shared. So, Joey ate it. Yes, the cat.
Eric showing off the fish.....one of MANY.
This picture does not even do that shirt justice. It was FILTH-Y.

Family Time

Can you tell I'm catching up on pictures?

We had a BBQ to celebrate some birthdays this weekend at my grandmother's house. Since we have so many family members, we have a get together every couple of months and just celebrate a bunch of birthdays at a time. Gifts were getting to be too expensive, so we now forego the gifts and just have tons of food. Can't argue with that!!
Here is Carter with my Aunt Brenda...eating ice cream and spitting. He spits now. It's fun. No really.

The next two pictures are Carter hanging out with my brother, Dana, and his girlfriend, Tracy.

First Battle Wound

It's hard to tell from this picture, but Carter got pretty banged up this weekend. He pulled a chair over on top of his head...poor fella!!! It was traumatizing for us both. He has a pretty nasty bump over his right eye...up on the forehead a little bit. And then he bit his lip. I'll have to get better pictures. In the meantime, here's Mr. Sad Face.

Is it wrong that my child scares me?

Now that he crawls, he stalks. But he's not a savvy stalker yet. He screams while he's stalking you. Not too sneaky if you ask me. However, it's still entertaining and I snapped this picture of him the other morning as he was "stalking" me.
Oh, and he has a total of 6 teeth now.

Summertime....and the living's easy....

Here are some pictures from the softball games.
This is my spit ball. Is that even legal anymore?

Rockin' the walker. He seriously gets around in this thing amazingly well. Watch your bare feet....he's definitely an ankle crasher. Ouch!!

Off on his own.....cruising around the dugout.

Heeeyyyyy......fancy meetin' you here Uncle Dana!

Carter giving Dana some batting advice.

Are YOU Talkin' to Me?

I totally sport the new Fisher Price Flip Phone.

Seriously - with a face like that, how will I ever tell him no?

Let the Games Begin

Here are some pictures I took this morning of Carter while I was getting ready for work.
Helping open the door all the way.

Hey!!! You caught me!!

Here kitty, kitty......

Highlighting Idaho: Meet Borah Peak

Meet Borah Peak

The tallest mountain in Idaho.

Elevation 12,662 feet.

Part of the Rocky Mountain Range

There have been three deaths recorded while attempting to climb Borah Peak.

In 1983, there was a 7.3 earthquake, that rose Mt. Borah by seven feet. There is a fault line that runs directly in front of the mountain. You can see it in the picture below.

Weekend Recap...Part 2

Here is my brother, Dana, relaxing at camp.

Eric fishing the North Fork of the Boise River. He caught a couple fish - he kept one, seasoned it, and put it in the fire to cook. Then forgot about it, and basically cremated the poor fish!!

Eric and me.

My brother and his girlfriend.

Beautiful Idaho.

Weekend Recap

So Eric and I were able to get away this weekend....somewhat alone.....and away from Carter. I did pretty well - really started missing my little guy Saturday night, and then was really impatient to get home Sunday.

So we headed out Friday after work. My brother, Dana, and his girlfriend, Tracy, decided that they were going to head up with us, so we had to leave a paper plate trail to our camp.

And we stopped along the way to get some fire wood. Does this picture scare anyone? Because it did me!!

Once we got to camp, we set the timer and took a picture. We're corny....we know, lol.

Here is Eric cooking us dinner Friday night.

On Saturday, we shot Eric's gun. On the left is Eric's target, on the right is mine. Needless to say, I was the champ of shooting. And I think Eric is officially scared of me now!!

He's Crawling!!!

Well, Carter is finally crawling. I have been (impatiently) waiting for this day to arrive, and of course, it happens when I leave him for the weekend. I'm still thrilled about it. And I will recap our camping trip tomorrow. Too tired tonight!

Random Facts

So I am running low on ideas for random facts. Any ideas? Maybe I should just open the floor to suggestions....or, even better yet, questions you can ask about random facts and ME and I can post answers. Maybe we can try that as a group effort. I am going out of town....camping....just Eric and me. I'm excited and scared at the same time.....leaving my little baby for the weekend. But I know Eric and I will have a blast by ourselves.
So.....I think that's what I will do. I will open the floor to questions about me. And Sunday, when I return, I will post them and answer them all.

Have fun!

***GASP****

It's been like two weeks since I have posted any pictures of Carter! Are you going through withdrawals? I will work on getting some new ones up soon.

Random Fact #31

I have never smoked - cigarette or otherwise.

Or done any form of drug.

And I'm pretty damn proud of that. And it impresses other people. Not enough to make them quit, but oh well. I have no desire whatsoever to damage my body in that way. I can deal with stress in a healthy way (most of the time, lol) and I don't need an addiction in my life. That's just me.

Highlighting Idaho: Meet the Snake River

Meet the Snake River.

This great river originates in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and runs through Idaho and Oregon. It is 1,038 miles long. In volume, it is the 6th largest river in the United States.
The Snake River cuts through the canyon walls of Hells Canyon. Hells Canyon is actually the deepest river gorge in North America - deeper than the Grand Canyon by about 2,000 feet! Below are two pictures of Hells Canyon, a place Eric and I like to go camping.

The Snake River is also home to some pretty cool waterfalls. Below is Shoshone Falls.

Falls Creek Falls, on the Snake River.

Please Don't Let This Happen to Me

I know it's going to. It's inevitable. Children are just bound to mortify you with their innocent comments. This happened to someone I know, the following is her story about a shopping trip with her grandson.
The only thing I remember from this weekend since it will stay with me FOREVER is....Went to Walmart with my sweet Gage. He was sitting in the cart being a very good boy. Little background here...a few months back, Gage discovered the word nipple. Said it obsessively for a couple days, wanted to see everyone's nipples, you know the drill, but then he stopped and I haven't heard the word again UNTIL....ready to check out, lines are crammed with people. I take my place in line and all of a sudden Gage shouts out (he talks VERY loud like most 3 yr olds) "Are these your nipples Nonnie?" At the same time he reaches out and grabs my boobs! I was a little taken aback to say the least and tried vainly to ignore EVERY single person in the lines turning to look at me. So, I choose to ignore him to which he speaks at an even louder tone..."Nonnie, I SAID, ARE THESE YOUR NIPPLES??" Again, pointing and trying to grab mine. Then he begins to repetitively say Nipples like some demented rainman...Nipples, nipples, nipples, nipples, nipples, nipples...people are actually laughing out loud now and I knew I had to act fast so I said, "Look Gage, it's Darby!" (From winnie the pooh) He immediately forgets the nipple talk to give himself whiplash looking for Darby. He looked all the way thru my checkout, saying goodbye to the cashier, and just when I was THIS CLOSE to making a clean getaway, he shouts out....DOES DARBY HAVE NIPPLES??? Off we go again!

Engagement Photos - Part 3

And one last one, lol

Engagement Photos - Part 2

Engagement Photos - Part 1

Last weekend, Eric's mom took us out to do pictures that we will be including in our wedding invitations, and then a big, matte photo that we will use at the wedding for guests to sign. The following three posts will contain 11 pictures. I won't tell you which one we picked, but comments would be appreciated!
