Highlighting Idaho: Meet the Snake River

Meet the Snake River.

This great river originates in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming and runs through Idaho and Oregon. It is 1,038 miles long. In volume, it is the 6th largest river in the United States.
The Snake River cuts through the canyon walls of Hells Canyon. Hells Canyon is actually the deepest river gorge in North America - deeper than the Grand Canyon by about 2,000 feet! Below are two pictures of Hells Canyon, a place Eric and I like to go camping.

The Snake River is also home to some pretty cool waterfalls. Below is Shoshone Falls.

Great photos's. Where is Falls Creek? Is that over by Hagerman? It kind of looks like the thousand springs area..

It appears to be by Swan Valley, outside of Idaho Falls.
