I count.
I don't know if that means there is something wrong with me. But I count. Stairs. Silverware when I'm putting it away. How many notches on the volume knob on the radio. (seriously - AND as an extension of that, I have to have volume on an even number, i.e., volume 8, not 7. Or on the TV, the volume has to be on a whole number, i.e., 55, not 55.5) How many times a phone rings. All sorts of random things like that. Always have. I don't know why.

OMG!! We are soul sisters! I do the exact same thing. I count everything. Don will even ask me what I am counting cause he knows when I'm doing it. He says I'm obsessive compulsive.
I don't know if it's necessarily an OCD thing - and if it is, it's a very SMALL aspect of the entire disorder. It's just a quirk - that's what I would call it! A quirk.....no need to say we have an disorder, lol!
sounds a little ocd to me. hahaha. jk. i agree with what you said, if it is ocd it is very mild. i also count, but not to the extent that you do. i count points on people's faces - i guess that may make me a little crazier than you. when someone is talking to me i count things on their face over and over, sometimes i get so into it that i dont even pay attention to what is being said.
I Googled "counting obsession" for you and found all sorts of articles and websites about OCD. You and Cristie have a disorder (LOL!) The first step in treatment is admission.
On that note, if you ask the "professionals", we ALL have some kind of disorder. It's just their way of getting more money out of us :)
We have a diagnosis for that and it IS OCD. Take it from me, I do this for a living, lol ;)
You know Miss Jenn, I'm starting to think that our great minds think too often alike. I'm not kidding. I have the same issue with things not being an even number. That's why I felt like I was cursed when my son was born on all odd days (9.21.07)(I think your son was too!![9.15.07]).
