Halloween this year was packed with activity. Normally I would have a minor panic attack about not being able to get everything done in time, but it all worked out and we got to do everything we and the kids wanted to do.
Carter had a great parade at school, where all the kids got to dress up in their costumes, have classroom parties, and then join the entire school for some fun. He had a great time! Once school was out, we got both kids ready in full costume and headed to my parents' house for a quick visit. Carter had somewhat of a meltdown over his costume, so I wondered if we would be cutting the entire night short. He managed to turn the mood around.
We stopped at my house for a quick dinner and then loaded back up. We decided to hit a different subdivision this year - Red Feather. I have heard great things about this neighborhood and it sure didn't disappoint! It was hopping with tons of kids, haunted houses, several houses with bonfires and adult beverages for the parents, and great decorations. Fortunately, Eric's sister lives in that neighborhood, so we just parked at her house and made a couple loops.
"The beer house" as we heard several people call it. Several bins of beer on ice, wine, snacks, bonfire, etc. It was so great! At one point, there had to be over 50 people standing there. It was such a fun environment! We will definitely continue to trick or treat in this neighborhood.
After the kids got a sufficient amount of candy, we headed over to a small party so the kids could see Eric's mom. We ended up staying for a little while and had a great time. It was a super busy night but we sure had fun!
