A Quiet Weekend

Since we have a big trip coming up, we are reserving resources. Usually Memorial Day Weekend is a traveling weekend for us, but we opted to stay home instead. I took Friday off from work, and we were quite busy around the house and around town. The super regionals for NCAA softball were on, and I think I managed to watch most of every game.  We also managed to play quite hard all weekend - both at home and at Kleiner.  This resulted in some epic naps from the kids.

One of the afternoons when I was laying out on the patio, enjoying the sun, I noted this on one of my flower pots:

Quite fitting considering that's where I'm headed! I have done a ridiculous amount of research and planning to finalize the itinerary. I still have more to do, but the progress really makes me feel like this is going to be an amazing experience.

I took the kids to Kleiner Saturday evening. They swore they weren't going to go in the fountain, and for a little while, I believed them. But I knew those squeals of delight from all of the other kids playing in the water would be too much to handle. And I was right. The kids eventually ditched their shoes and were soaking wet in a manner of seconds. It's hard to tell in this picture, but Kendall is drenched!

After they got dried off:

I had my 50mm on all weekend, with the intention of getting far more pictures, but there was just too much going on. I finally made the strawberry cake Kendall wanted for her birthday. Oops!

Carter found this acorn while he was playing in the neighborhood park.

Lots of EXCITING stuff happening this summer!
