Well, it's been five years since this happened:
I still remember every single part of that day. The call. The waiting. The WAITING. Sitting and laughing with family and friends when I just wanted to be alone and cry. Feeling the watchful eyes on me. Being strong for Carter because we seriously didn't know the outcome of surgery.
But Carter got to keep his daddy. :)
If you run your finger along the main scar, you can feel the wire they used to close his ribcage.
Happy 5 year LIVING anniversary, babe. Glad you are still here to drive us all crazy. ;)
