Oregon Coast: Day 1

As everyone knows, we took a trip to the Oregon Coast to celebrate our first year wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time - how do you NOT when there is a beach involved?! Anyway, we decided to drive.....which, looking back, was a mistake. It seemed like a good idea, you know, to enjoy a roadtrip together. And we did have fun doing that....we left at 4:30 Friday morning and by 5:30, I was receiving a strip tease from the hubby.....while he was seatbelted in, in the front passenger seat. Entertainment was NOT something we were lacking! We laughed so hard....I love us being like that.
These first couple of pictures are just from the drive.
This one is showing the volcanoes in the distances. We saw plenty of them!

This is Mount Washington. There was a pull-out that would have produced a much better picture, but traffic was insane, so this is the best I was able to get.

This was just while we were stopped in Salem, Oregon. For someone who has nothing to do with churches, they sure do fascinate me......just the architecture. (I used to want to be one not so long ago....an architect, not a church)
When we finally arrived, I laid down to take a nap as a migraine had sent in. When I woke up, it was dinner time! After dinner, Eric and his sister, Ashley, and her fiance, David, and I headed down to explore the local beach.

The beach was just gorgeous! We were able to make it for the sunset, even though there was a little storm moving in.

I could seriously sit on the beach, campfire included, and listen to the crashing waves for hours (ok, DAYS) at a time. It was so relaxing.

The hubby taking in the scene.

The waves were pretty calm that evening.

Hubby snapped a pic of me!

Awwwwww he is so romantic.

Great pictures. Ashley showed me this cave a couple of days later.
