A Tribute to Jesse

In life, if you are one of the lucky ones, a pet comes along that significantly changes your world. Jesse was one of those pets.

15 years ago, we brought home this spitfire pup, not even knowing what she had in store for us. What an adventure. What joy she brought to our lives. I have never met a dog with such personality. Her toothy smile (if you know, you know). Her belly flops into the water to retrieve a buoy. Her insatiable game of fetch with a tennis ball. Her rock diving. I could list a million things that made Jesse, Jesse. She was the best camping dog. She went on more adventures with my parents than most humans ever take in their life. A world traveler for sure.
While she may have physically slowed down over the last couple of years, she had her puppy spirit to the very end. Forever a feisty 2-year old in her old lady body. The world absolutely lost a light today, as Jesse crossed the Rainbow Bridge. But she's now back to diving for rocks and taking naps in the sun.
The ladies from Gentle Goodbyes told us today that Jesse was so lucky to have us as her family. Wrong. We were the lucky ones. RIP sweet girl. You have no idea how much you were loved.
