Happy 1st!

Happy 1-year to us!  Since we got married in the mountains, it only made sense to go back to celebrate our first anniversary.  We tried a new-to-us place for dinner, at Anderson Reserve.  Very cool place with excellent food and atmosphere.  Randy found us a really cute air bnb cabin up Robie Creek with amazing views.  We took an evening drive clear back in, windows down and 90s country blaring.  It was such a great weekend!  And to top it off, the Red Sox are putting it ON the Yankees!  Very fitting that this series would take place on our anniversary weekend.

They say the first year of marriage is the hardest.  Not sure why, because this has been such an adventure-filled year for us, and nowhere near "hard".  Just takes the right person!  Here's to a million more, my love.

35th Anniversary Party

So this year, my parents celebrate 35 years of wedded bliss. Granted, it probably wasn't ALL bliss, but making it 35 years in this day and age is quite the accomplishment. I made a comment in my toast about how celebs and the ever-evolving generations don't seem to put as much stock into marriage anymore.  So to celebrate this occasion, I started planning this party long ago. It was tough work, let me tell you!  We certainly didn't have a million people there, but I still had things to plan, such as location, food, drinks, entertainment, etc. And for the most part, it was quite a fun process!  I'm glad we got our friends and family together for a big celebration.  Here are some shots throughout the night....until the rum took over and I put the camera away. =)

Dana and Veronica made the drive down to be part of the celebration.

I asked my cousin, Matt's girlfriend, Lori, to be in charge of the dessert table. Dessert is Lori's thang. ;) That girl can cook and bake like nobody I know. And she never ceases to amaze me!

I have to say, the weather was pretty perfect that day. It was hot setting everything up, but once people started showing up and I could relax a bit in the shade, it wasn't all that bad!

My dear friend, Shoshauna even made it! I don't see this girl often enough and I think this year is a good year to change that. Last time I saw her was my wedding, I believe. Time to get more involved with her. I miss her like crazy.

We also played corn hole until well after dark. I love that game!

I had Eric get us a cake from The Cheesecake Factory - it was amazing. And the sparkler candles were awesome, too!
 I have a little toast.

 As did my dad.

 As did my brother.
It was an awesome night. I'm proud of my parents, and I'm so glad we had such great people there to celebrate with us!

Happy Anniversary, mom and dad! I love you!

A Perfect Anniversary Celebration

So before we left for Tahoe, I booked one of the dinner cruises for our anniversary.  Three hours long - cruising all around Lake Tahoe, a four-course meal, a live band......can't go wrong with that scenario.  So Sunday evening, we left Carter to hunt dinosaurs and dragons with Eric's mom and grandma, and we set out for our romantic evening.

The cruise was awesome.  Definitely the best part was Emerald Bay (which was carved from glaciers), simply because of Vikingsholm Castle.  It was gorgeous - and bigger than it appears from the water (34 rooms).

By the time we left the castle, it was dark and we were quite bummed that we couldn't see the rest of the lake.  However, when we got close to the marina, the boat stopped and we got to see the entire Labor Day fireworks display.  It was awesome!  It went on for about 20 minutes - I tried to get some good pictures, but being on a boat kind of prevents "good" pictures from happening.  They had ones that were heard shaped, and smiley faced ones too.

Overall, it was an awesome anniversary!  Here's to many more!

Happy Anniversary, Baby!!

Today is our 2nd wedding anniversary.  We've been together much longer, but finally tied the knot on this glorious day, two years ago, at my dream wedding venue.

Last year, we were at the Oregon Coast to celebrate our anniversary.

And this year, we are currently in Lake Tahoe, heading out on a 3 hour dinner cruise of the lake .  Happy Anniversary, Eric - I love you!!!  Here's to many, MANY more years.
