It's time for the fair! {2012}

Sunday night, we took the kids to the fair. At first, I wasn't planning to take Kendall, but I had just returned from Idaho Falls, and didn't have time to make arrangements for a babysitter. So we brought her along, and she had such a good time!  I don't feel like editing much of these, so take them as they are. :)

The animal petting area was the toughest for me, as always, due to the hay. Hay and I do NOT get along. I had a full blown allergy attack while we were there....sneezing, puffy eyes, etc. At one point, I asked Eric to take a picture of the kids and me, and he told me I looked stoned. Hay, I hate you.

But Carter had a wonderful time feeding and petting the animals. The goats were by far his favorite.

Eric even tried to get Kendall to feed one of the milk cows.

She didn't want anything to do with it. ;)

Seriously - these things are stalking me.

After the animal area, we headed out into the carnival area.  First stop is one of Carter's favorite things - riding the little ponies!

One of the funhouses - don't ask me why Carter looks like he's waving to his kingdom.

Choo choo!
Carter was finally tall enough to go on the BIIIIIIIG slide this year. Eric showed him the ropes the first time around, but after that, Carter was on his own and climbed those stairs numerous times.

He loved it!
After some rides, we decided to go over and check out the shark show. First up were the four nurse sharks. The guy actually got into the tank with them and played around.  Unfortunately, the kids were squirming around too much and it was time to eat, so we didn't get to see the entire show.

The minute we sat down to eat, here comes my stalker!

We decided on finger steaks and fries for the kids and me, and Eric had a lamb sandwich with some other Greek things.....can't remember what they were called.
After we ate, it was time to head back for more rides.  Carter was about 1/2 an inch too short for the big swings (thanks to the carnie who told him no and made him cry), so we found the medium sized swings for him again.

Kendall just chilled with me. :)

And we found the caterpillar roller coaster again.
And then we tried our hands at some of the games. We didn't win at anything we tried, but that's okay. Carter had a great time!

While we were walking around, Carter saw some kids with air-brushed tattoos, and decided he wanted one.  Don't worry Carter, we all have that nervous face right before we get our ink too. ;)

He decided to go with a bat, for Batman.

While we were walking around, we spotted the flying bungee people, so Eric and Carter got all strapped in and jumped around like crazy.  This was Carter's favorite part about the whole day.

He wouldn't do any flips for me, but he did end up jumping super high.

And my other fearless child did double backflips like crazy.

It was about 9:30 by the time we decided to call it a night. Kendall was zonked out!
I let her sleep while Eric and Carter took one last ride on the ferris wheel.

We crammed in a ton of stuff in about four hours, but it was totally worth it. I try to get it all into one day if I can because the fair is expensive and I only have so much tolerance for crowds of (stupid) people and teenagers. It starts to feel like a meat market after a while! ;)
