Random Fact #23

I am obsessed with chips and salsa!

It's my favorite snack. If I go to a restaurant and find some good salsa, I will buy some and bring it home to enjoy. If I have chips and salsa available at my house, I eat it every day. There is nothing better than sitting down to watch a baseball game with some chips and salsa and an ice-cold Mountain Dew. Ok, so it's not the healthiest snack in the world............but that's ok. ;)

My mother and grandmother make home-made salsa every year and it's soooo delicious! A little sweet, and definitely has a kick to it.

And did you know that the official snack of Texas is chips and salsa? That's my kind of state!!

Random Fact #22

I am a picky eater.

While I'm a food lover, I'm a picky eater. I need to know what's in something before I will eat it and I usually examine every bite. I like the flavor onions give food, but I can't stand the texture of onions. I can't stand tomatoes, but tomato soup is my favorite. And salsa? Don't even get me started on salsa. I can't stand any one ingredient in salsa, but I could eat chips and salsa every day for the rest of my life and never get sick of it. I really don't consider myself any pickier (is that a word?) than the next person. I like what I like and I really don't like to deviate from what I like. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying new things.............except dessert, lol!

Cheer Me Up

Do you ever have a bad day and need a little pick-me-up? I have your fix right here:

Eric and his Aunt Ashley

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there!

Eric and Carter got me a beautiful diamond necklace and I feel the need to show it off! My old necklace, which I wore every day, was...well, old. And I let Carter play with it and pull on it - so we will definitely not be doing that with this necklace.

Sleep

So I used to have a bumper thing in Carter's crib to keep him from rolling onto his face while sleeping. I just looked it up - a sleep positioner. Anyway, it's to incline babies slightly and to keep them from rolling into their face, reducing the risk of SIDS.

(not Carter)

Anyway, I'm not sure what the recommended age is to stop using this sleep positioner, but I just took it out of the crib last week. I think the cut-off age for a risk of SIDS is 7 months, so I finally felt safe in leaving Carter asleep in his crib overnight without his sleep positioner. He's all over that crib!!! I find him asleep in his stomach, his side, his back......even sideways!! He's in napping right now and I had to snap a couple pictures of him because it cracked me up.

I really do recommend this sleep positioner, or one like it, to all moms out there because it really did give me peace of mind knowing that Carter wasn't going to end up with his face in the mattress and no way to roll himself over.
