After the hike at Johnston Canyon, we decided to take one of the chairlift rides. There were chairlifts and gondolas all over the place - no shortage of mountains in Canada! We opted for the chairlift at Mt. Norquay, which is right in the town of Banff. It was a long, winding road up to the lift and Carter had a last minute panic about heights, so he didn't end up joining us on the ride. It was really fun and we had hoped to see some animals from the chairlift vantage point....no such luck!
After the chairlift, we grabbed a late lunch and decided to do some fishing and exploring around Rundle Forebay, Spray Lake, and the Kananaski Wildlife Drive.
This was HALF of the massive herd of elk we saw strolling down the road near Canmore.
