Spring Break!

I was able to take all of last week off to spend spring break with the kiddos. Seems like I was a thousand times more busy being at home than at work! Whew! We had a lot of fun, and I got a ton of spring cleaning done around the house.

One of the items on the kids' list of things to do was make cupcakes. Carter opted to spend two days at the Y doing their fun activities, so cupcake day was just a girls' day. Kendall picked out BLUE cupcakes, so we made those, frosted them, and then added some sprinkles. And then she decided she didn't like them. Go figure!! Little turkey!

We also got to go see the kids' newest little cousin, Norah! Baby Norah was like a hot potato, being passed back and forth between my two kids. And she slept through the whole thing!

I also went on the hunt for this bad boy:

I saw something similar on a car while stuck in traffic. While I'm not a big fan of window stickers, something that portrayed my love for Idaho outdoors definitely made me think twice. I searched high and low, had many people on FB helping me out, but ultimately, Michelle ended up just making one for me. I was so excited to put it on my car, and it looks so great!

Overall, it was definitely a stressful week with a lot more going on that I anticipated. I felt the need for some quality ME time creeping in, and the lack of it was making me very cranky. ;) So I was happy to get two solid half-days of scrapbooking in, which made me feel much better. We also tackled some house projects (some lasting much longer than they should have.....always an adventure!), and have a to-do list for this coming weekend as well. There were a few photoshoots scattered throughout my time off, as well as a ton of March Madness. While I love March Madness, the fact that it's almost over means BASEBALL IS ALMOST HERE!

Easter!

Easter this year was a little different due to changing custody schedules and having a third child in the house. Matt and I had a blast putting together the baskets for the kiddos. All of the kids got their baskets early since they wouldn't be with us on Easter Sunday. It was quite comical listening to the three of them brainstorm as to how the Easter Bunny knew to get the baskets to them early, how he carried the baskets, how he could possibly ring the doorbell, etc. I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard at some of their creative ideas!

Saturday, my kids got to participate in the massive Easter Eggstravaganza at Kleiner Park. We have done this for the past couple of years, and it's so fun for the kids. Carter is always super aggressive and loads up on tons of candy-filled eggs. Kendall on the other hand.......we need to work with that girl! The second the kids took off to gather eggs, she grabbed my hand and stayed on the sidewalk. I had to break the rules and actually walk out with her so she wouldn't end up with an empty basket. Still not her cup of tea!

It was a decent day for weather, so we spent a little bit longer at the park doing the bounce houses. I'm glad we had good weather this year!

The Powell Family

As spring tries to arrive in Idaho, the photoshoots are starting to kick into gear. Maybe not high gear, as I'm still cutting WAY back on the business in order to enjoy life, but into A gear nonetheless. I have done so many shoots with this family, so I was excited when they contacted me for yet another. We always end up having such a great time with many belly laughs. Certainly doesn't feel like work when we all get together!

In the Thick of It

It's been CHILLY for practices lately! And last night, we got stormed out. But there is no place I'd rather be than watching Carter play this game. We struggled through some solo practices (attitude much?) but once he got through tryouts and placed with a team (same coach as last year!), his competitive attitude and love for the game returned.

This specific practice, Kendall and I stayed bundled up in some blankets.  I sure wish the wind would take a hike!

Baseball Tryouts!

After cramming in several practices in preparation for tryouts, the big day arrived! It was a gorgeous morning for baseball, and holy moly were there a gazillion kids! Carter did very well, and I'm so proud of him for focusing and getting the job done today. Hopefully we get some good news in the coming weeks!

Another Round

I have been sick as a dog for two weeks now, so I am behind on my blogging. The kids are cramming in one more session of swimming lessons before baseball season starts. We started this week, and both kids were super stoked to get back into the water. I'm sure glad I have a couple of fish on my hands!
