18

18 years ago, you made me a mom.
My boy.
The ultimate dragon slayer.
My sports BFF.
We have seen a lot together...all of your firsts were also my firsts. We grew up together. Lots of adventures. You are a great travel buddy!
This age is so hard because I have spent the last 18 years trying to teach and guide you along your own path, and now you are an adult. No one teaches the moms how to "let go" and watch our kiddos be free out in the world. Watching a part of you forge their own path is both awe-inspiring and gut-wrenching at the same time.
I get so many compliments on how wonderful of a young man you are, and I couldn't agree more. You are an incredible human being. Strong, drive, and caring. Witty, funny, and true to your own heart.
It has been the highest honor of my life to watch you grow into such an incredible young man.
I am beyond proud of you...and you will always be my little dragon slayer.
I love you, bud!
Happiest of birthdays!

The Sweeeeeetest 16!

It's the sweetest 16 for this incredible young lady.  Addie is a unicorn, truly! Magical, with the biggest heart, sassiest attitude, and boots covered in dirt.  There is no one like her.  Hoping the 16th trip around the sun is the best!

Happy 1st!

Happy 1-year to us!  Since we got married in the mountains, it only made sense to go back to celebrate our first anniversary.  We tried a new-to-us place for dinner, at Anderson Reserve.  Very cool place with excellent food and atmosphere.  Randy found us a really cute air bnb cabin up Robie Creek with amazing views.  We took an evening drive clear back in, windows down and 90s country blaring.  It was such a great weekend!  And to top it off, the Red Sox are putting it ON the Yankees!  Very fitting that this series would take place on our anniversary weekend.

They say the first year of marriage is the hardest.  Not sure why, because this has been such an adventure-filled year for us, and nowhere near "hard".  Just takes the right person!  Here's to a million more, my love.
