Honeymoon Day 8 - Maui

Today, we woke up at 3am to make the long, windy drive up to Haleakala Summit for the most epic, magical sunrise we have ever seen.  Above the clouds, quite literally on top of our little island world, at 10,023 feet.  As soon as the sun made its appearance, a group of locals welcomed it with song.  It was so moving...an experience of a lifetime for sure.  We are not religious, but this was a spiritual moment for both of us.  We also got to see the Observatory, which is used for science and military purposes, and closed to the public.

Honeymoon Day 7 - Maui

Day 7 brought a half-day snorkeling adventure at Molokini, which is a partially submerged volcanic crater.  It's an excellent snorkeling location!  This was Randy's first time snorkeling, so it was exciting to experience it with him.  After exploring at Molokini, we made another stop at Turtle Town, where we got to see a sea turtle up close!

We also got to see the crew reel in a Wahoo - pretty exciting!

We rested for quite a bit after snorkeling (the ocean takes a lot out of you!) and then found a great little beach near us, Pohaku Park Beach, to watch a beautiful sunset.  Afterwards, we found another little hole-in-the-wall place for dinner, Dollie's!  Named after their yellow lab, Dollie, it had the best pizza we've ever had!
