Ski School - End of 4th Year

I really wish these pictures were better quality....but hey, you get what you get when you aren't there to get your own pictures. ;)  This last Sunday was Carter's last day of his fourth year of ski lessons. He totally rocked this year, and definitely learned a bunch of new things. I'm sure he's excited to get back up there on his own (with Eric) to put into practice all of the things he has learned. Great job this year, Carter!!

Hello, Old Friend

Softball is going to have a bigger presence in my life this year, so I felt the need to grab a few items to add to my sports attire. There isn't much in life that makes me happier than standing on the infield......or the rubber.

The Child Who Lived.......For Now

Monday morning, I was getting the kids ready for the day. I stepped into my bathroom for a few minutes to brush my teeth, and when I came out, this is what greeted me in the living room:

 

 

My first thought was "ok, she totally butchered one of the Barbie's hair." And then I picked up the hair and thought "hmmmmm this feels a lot like human hair." KENDALL MORGAN! I called both kids into the living room and grilled them about who cut the hair and WHYYYYY. Of course, no one knew the answer. I guess those scissors just hopped up off the table and chopped the hair! Turns out it was just Kendall....though I never got a straight answer as to why she did it. Matt gave her the most grief, telling her "if you really wanted a haircut, we can just shave your head like I do mine." Kendall was NOT happy about that, but it definitely got a giggle out of me watching her worry if we were really going to shave her head.

 

 

Honestly, it could have been worse......she could have chopped the front or straight off the top. She managed to just get the side, but it still required me taking about three inches off all the way around. She wasn't very happy with me, and the feelings were totally mutual. Little turd!

 

Weekend Update

What a crazy busy weekend! I took off a little early on Friday, and it was literally non-stop the entire weekend.

Sunday was Carter's ski lessons and my turn to take him up to Bogus. I hate that drive. Kendall stayed with my parents, so I took Carter to get his gear, lift ticket, and up the mountain. It was rainy the entire time, and everyone who came trekking into the lodge was totally drenched. I felt so bad for Carter!

But he wanted to get back out and go on his own runs.....definitely a time I wish I knew how to ski, or that Matt had brought his gear. But with the conditions the way they were, nobody wanted to be drenched any longer than they had to. We cranked the heat on the drive home, for sure!

Swimming Lessons - Continued

I'm not sure who is having more fun with this round of swimming lessons - the kids or me. It's so fun to watch each of them do their own thing.

 

 

Kendall is quite the little alpha overachiever. Shocker! She really does a great job at listening to the instructor and following the directions. I can see the focus on her face when they are doing more challenging tasks.

 

 

Carter is definitely in a more advanced class. I wanted to challenge him, and while the other kids in his class are better swimmers, his hustle is definitely there. I will definitely have him repeat this same class next session.
