Project 2011: Through His Eyes Part 2

Hello Sunday!  It's that time to upload the pictures Carter took this week.  We didn't take the camera out and about as much as I hoped we would, so that's my goal this coming week.  Nonetheless, we did get some good pictures, which I share with you now:

Jesse's chew bone - at my parents' house
 Papa and Grandma
 Papa making breakfast
This is what Carter gives us when we ask for his "mad" face.  He's rarely mad - truly, he's the happiest kid I know - always laughing and running and playing and loving.  But it's funny to watch him try to have a "mad" face.
 His Dinosaur Train dinosaurs.....and Superman
I tried to tell him this was a lobster head, but he keeps calling it a crab. So here he is, telling me it's a crab.
Our postcard we created one night when we were reading by the fire.
At Aunt Ashley's salon, waiting to get his haircut.
 His turn in the chair!
 Self-portrait

We get lots of blurries ;)

This one....he was really laughing too hard to get a decent pic. I do fish lips and when his finger gets too close to my mouth, I bite him.  But he ends up in a giggling fit before his finger even gets close to my mouth.
And my stylin' glasses - of course!
Stay tuned for more!

Pregnancy Tracker - 25 weeks

Well here we are at 25 weeks.  I'm definitely starting to feel the battle for room in my own body.  Yesterday was particularly uncomfortable - it felt as though the baby was laying from my spine to my belly button, with her feet pushing out on my belly button.  Not the most pleasant feeling, and I know it's only going to get worse.  :(  She's still very active - moving and kicking quite often.  I'm still battling this cold - which seems to have a grip on my system.  But it would appear that it's finally making a (slow) exit, so hopefully by the weekend, I can feel 100% again.

Here's what babycenter.com says about the pregnancy at 25 weeks:

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga (I seriously had to look up what that even is!), but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat (yay for fat babies!!!). As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Your baby's not the only one with more hair — your locks may look more full and lustrous than ever. It's not that you're growing more hair, but thanks to hormonal changes, the hair that you'd normally shed is sticking around longer than usual. Enjoy the fullness while you can — the extra hair will fall out after you give birth.

You may also notice that you can't move around as gracefully as before (uh, DUH). Unless your doctor has advised you otherwise, it's fine to continue to exercise, but follow a few safety rules: Don't work out when you're feeling overly tired and stop if you feel any pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath. Don't lie flat on your back and avoid contact sports as well as any exercise where you're apt to lose your balance. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and make time for both warm-up and cool-down periods.

When you have your glucose-screening test at 24 to 28 weeks (coming up on Feb 1st), a second tube of blood may be taken at the same time to check for anemia. If blood tests show that you have iron-deficiency anemia (the most common type of anemia), your caregiver will probably recommend that you take an iron supplement.

Project 2011: Through His Eyes

One of the things I decided to get for Carter for Christmas was his own camera.  He is well aware of a camera, and loves hitting the timer button on mine when we are doing goofy photoshoots.  So I figured it was time to get him his own camera to explore the world.  I noticed tonight that the batteries were almost dead, so I figured we would snap a few goofy pictures before it completely died.  And of course, I don't have replacement batteries here in the house......mom of the year award right here!

So, without further delay, here the pictures we have on the camera right now.  This will, or so is my hope, be a weekly post with updates of what Carter has captured.  (note:  these are all straight out of the camera - I'm clearly not going to edit them. And yes, some are fuzzy. I don't expect a 3 year old to hold perfectly still - ha! Who does?!)

One of the fun things about this camera is the funny little add-ons you can select for pictures before you take them.  We had a hoot the other morning messing around with these!

Stay tuned each week for more of our Project 2011:  Through His Eyes!

Random Fact #64

I'm a jock.

I'm a lover of MOST sports.  I draw the line at soccer and rugby, and a few others.

I love watching sports - whether live or on TV - and playing sports.  I'm up for any game.  I have more sports knowledge than 99.9% of the girls I know, and a good percentage of the guys, too!  I would watch a hell of a lot more sports on TV if my hubby didn't complain.  Quite backwards, don'tcha think?  ;)  And I've got the sports trash-talking mouth as well.  Eric's biggest fear, since he's more of a self-proclaimed punk, is that I'm going to turn our children into jocks.  I don't see the harm - a little competitive attitude never hurt anyone!

Play hard or go home!
