Lowman Camping Adventures!

What a weekend!  The kids and I headed up to the mountains Thursday for a long weekend of fun. The whole family met up there and it was a weekend of belly laughs around the fire, whiffle ball, corn hole, games, 4-wheeler rides, playing catch, great food, and spreading Jesse's ashes at her favorite place. Could not have asked for a better weekend!

The Lasts - 2022 Edition

Well, this week was a big week of "lasts" in this household. Both kids had their last day at their respective schools. Carter is moving on to high school and Kendall is moving on to middle school. So crazy to have these big milestones. They both did very well in school this year, both academically and with their athletics. I am a proud mama!

May's Literary Adventures

Well, May was definitely a quiet reading month for me. Lots of life stuff going on, which has pushed my focus elsewhere....though I would like nothing more than to get lost in a book for days on end. Hopefully June can be better. I continued on in the David Wolf series - this is a great one and lots more to dive into, so I really look forward to those. Kingdom of Bones was a total wash for me.  I didn't enjoy it, which is pretty surprising given Rollins is one of my faves. I think it was just too scientifically technical for me, and not enough of the usual Sigma Force adventure. Maybe We Will was a Prime free read for the month, and it was actually pretty good and an easy read.

April's Literary Adventures

April was a great month for reading! I love stumbling upon new-to-me authors who have multi-book series I can dive into. I had two of those this month. Freida McFadden had two good books - The Locked Door was definitely the better of the two, as One By One was just a little above average, and a little too far-fetched.  Jeff Carson has an amazing series about a former Army Ranger turned Colorado sheriff - lots of outdoorsy stuff, combined with grit, crime solving, and adventure. Can't go wrong there! And Brene' Brown is an author close to my heart - I truly love her stuff.
