Random Fact #29

My favorite comedian is DANE COOK.

It doesn't help matters that he's extremely good looking.

Ok, he's H*O*T.

And I would have his babies if he would let me. Seriously.
Everyone has comedians that they like - people that just tickle your funny bone with every word that comes out of their mouth. Dane is that for me. He's hilarious. He could recite the alphabet and I would be peeing my pants with laughter. For my birthday last year, I received tickets to his show - excellent tickets. And I LOVED it. He's amazingly funny. I invite you to check out his stuff - either on his website www.danecook.com or look up his stuff on youtube. I warn you now - he *can* be crude, and he does swear. So if you are looking for some good, clean, family humor......Dane is NOT your man. He's my man. And he's amazing.

Family Photo

We were able to get out with Eric's mom and her fabulous camera this weekend - we shot photos to be included with the wedding invitations (yes, we finally got those done.....no, you can't see them yet) and the matte photo to be used at the wedding for guests to sign. We also shot a couple family pictures since we needed a new one. Michelle is going to give me a disc of all the photos this coming weekend so I can play with them, but she sent me a sneak peak last night. Here is the family photo.

Happy Independence Day!!!! (uh, a day late)

So I couldn't post our pictures last night because it was late and I might have been a little intoxicated. ;-) That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, here are pictures and a recap of last night.

We had several people over for our BBQ/fireworks. We played a couple drinking games to get the night started.

Carter wasn't sure what to think of the sparklers at first. He really liked all the fireworks. I took the approach of holding him and clapping while the fireworks were going off, so he would know it's a happy time, and nothing to be afraid of. I think I did the right thing because by the end of the night, he was jumping around in my lap every time we would light a firework. Yay me! He would also reach for the sparklers....I'm so glad he did well.

Family picture time.

I think we make a pretty darn good looking couple.......and cute children too!

Walker, Texas Ranger

Ok, just kidding. But my mom did get Carter a new walker and he loves it! Right now, he's only cruising around the kitchen since it has hardwood floors....................and he only goes backwards. I'm sure before too long, he'll figure out that he can go forward too.

Meet Jenny

Name: Jenny
Location: Boise, Id
Age: 26
Let me introduce you to Jenny.

Jenny was born and raised in Eureka, Nevada. Ever heard of it? Me neither. It's a very, very small town, with one main street. After high school, Jenny got the heck out of there. She moved to Florida and got her cosmetology license. She worked for a year before making her way to Boise, Idaho. I first met Jenny when she became a runner for the first law office I worked at. We immediately became friends, doing lunch pretty much every day, hanging out after work, etc. Eventually, it was time for me to move on to a different law office, and Jenny and I kind of lost touch. But we got back in touch over a year ago and pretty much picked up right where we left off. She is now an office manager for a law firm here in Boise - Moore, Baskin & Elia.

Jenny is my goofy friend. She is constantly cracking me up and is known for asking the most random questions, i.e., "do you have to walk very far to get to your bathroom at work?" She is a very giving person and is always offering to take care of people. She is an excellent hostess when people are in her home - always making sure people have something to eat and drink and are comfortable. She's going to make an excellent mother some day!! But in the meantime, she gets to practice on my little guy. Carter just loves "the crazy lady."

Jenny just purchased her own house this year and it's so exciting. She also just got engaged to a great man, Greg. Jenny and Greg love doing outdoor-sy things together and I think they are an excellent couple. Jenny has a little dog named Hank, who is special (ed). Seriously, Hank is goofy just like Jenny and they make a perfect pair as well. Good thing Greg came along!!

Here is my interview with Jenny.
#1 Have you ever eaten a crayon?
Not that I know of, but I ate glue when I was a kid.

#2 What do you think of toe socks?
They bug me, although, I do own a few pairs. I need to get rid of them.

#3 Do you match your shoes/belt/etc with your clothes? (i.e., black with black, or brown with brown)
Usually. It depends what I am doing, where I am going and how lazy I’m feeling that day.

#4 Have you ever run into a screen door or glass door?
Yes, when I was younger. I was in a hurry to get outside and play and didn’t realize the screen wasn’t open. Glad it was just the screen not the glass!

#5 What is your worst injury you have ever had?
I broke my arm in gymnastics. It broke it in three places. Ouch is right!

#6 What type of person were you in high school?
I was a cheerleader. That says it all right there. I didn’t like high school. Thank god I don’t ever have to go back!
(I didn't realize Jenny was a cheerleader in high school. Jenny is no longer my friend and will not be in the wedding. Just kidding!!!! But seriously, I CANNOT picture her as a cheerleader, being all.....peppy and whatnot.)

#7 What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex?
No secret weapon.

#8 What do you think of when I say the word "persnickety"?
I know a few.

#9 What would you like to know about the future?
Nothing, thanks.

#10 Have you ever cried (or used some other womanly form of blackmail) to get out of a ticket?
No, but I did get pulled over twice in one day and that almost made me cry.

#11 Have you ever stood someone up?
No.

#12 Have you ever illegally parked in a handicapped spot? And if yes, how do you think that made the handicapped person you just robbed of a spot feel?
Guilty. You can’t find parking at Christmas time!

#13 Where is the wierdest place you have a mole?
On my stomach next to my bellybutton.

#14 Do you have any wierd daily routines/habits?
I have daily routines, but I don’t think any of them are weird.

#15 Do you use the "hover" technique in public restrooms?
You better believe it. Public restrooms gross me out!

#16 Do you parallel park or drive around the block for an easier spot?
I cannot parallel park, so I will drive around until I find an easier spot.

#17 How often do you clean out your ears?
Once a month.
Kidding.
I clean them out everyday.

#18 Do you scrunch or fold your toilet paper?
Both.

#19 Have you ever lied to your mother? (shame on you)
Yep
#20 Do you laugh at yourself when you trip and totally fall on your ass?
Not only do I laugh at myself; I tend to laugh at others.

And that's Jenny. I guess I can look past the whole cheerleader thing.....since it was like eight years ago anyway. However, if I happen to find an old cheer uniform in her house one day, that's it! We are over!

Meet Rita

Name: Rita (or Reda, if you wanna piss her off....hee, hee)
Location: (currently) Indiana
Age: 27

Let me introduce you to Rita.

She was raised in New Jersey (that's right, she's a Jersey girl). She attended Penn State University, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Rita lived in Boston for a couple years and was generous enough to let Meag and I come visit her - giving us a fabulous tour of the city. Rita is now living in Indiana, attending Purdue, with a mission to obtain her Masters and Ph.D. in clinical psychology. If you want your brain picked, Rita is your girl. Rita and I also happened to meet online.....at the same website as I described in Meag's interview. The three of us were literally three peas in a pod. Rita is also a very kind person - her family is extremely important to her and she tries to get back to New Jersey to visit her sister, mother, and father as often as time and money allow. She takes wonderful care of her mother, who is the cutest little lady!!

Rita is an extremely hard worker - working tirelessly to meet her deadlines, completing projects I would never be able to accomplish, and speaking at conferences in numerous states. I am extremely proud of the level of professionalism Rita displays in her school and work. She's one of the hardest working people I know and she will be an asset no matter where she ends up in life. (I feel like I'm writing a letter of recommendation here!!)

Rita has traveled to several amazing places in her life. When I first met Rita, she was embarking on a trip to Germany. She has been to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.....even little Boise, Idaho. I think moving to her little town in Indiana was quite the culture shock having come from New Jersey and Boston. Rita was also a member of a sorority when she was in undergrad.....and yes, she's been known to get her party on. Look for this girl to be dancing it up at the reception!!

Anyway, moving along. Here is my interview with Ms. Rita.

#1 Have you ever eaten a crayon?

I ate a lot of things as a kid...a crayon was not one of them.

#2 What do you think of toe socks?

I own several pairs - love 'em!

#3 Do you match your shoes/belt/etc with your clothes? (i.e., black with black, or brown with brown)

Yes, I'm completely girly like that.

#4 Have you ever run into a screen door or glass door?

Almost! I was at a store and actually had to stare at the store front to figure out which was the door and which was the window. Close call!

#5 What is your worst injury you have ever had?

Sprained arch in college...was on crutches for a week.

#6 What type of person were you in high school?

I was a skater/punk chick. Pretty much the antithesis of what I am now, lol.

#7 What is your secret weapon to lure in the opposite sex?

Hmmm...my cleavage? I don't know...I think you'd need to ask a guy.

#8 What do you think of when I say the word "persnickety"?

My ex-roommates...yes that's right, EX...freedom at last!!

#9 What would you like to know about the future?

Nothing. I like surprises (in theory).

#10 Have you ever cried (or used some other womanly form of blackmail) to get out of a ticket?

No, but I've only ever gotten one ticket my whole life so there's hope for the future!

#11 Have you ever stood someone up?

I join Meag in the Hall of Shame...yes.

#12 Have you ever illegally parked in a handicapped spot? And if yes, how do you think that made the handicapped person you just robbed of a spot feel?

No...I'm not that big of a b****

#13 Where is the wierdest place you have a mole?

My right butt cheek.

#14 Do you have any wierd daily routines/habits?

Hmmmmm...none that I can think of (surprisingly!).

#15 Do you use the "hover" technique in public restrooms?

Yes! ...you walk in, right. Here's the first thing, I don't care. Anywhere in the country you go, why when you walk into a public restroom. Why is everything f***ing wet?! Right, there's puddles, water all over the counter. It's dripping like you're in a f***ing cave. What happened? Was there like a shaggy dog in there after a bath? (Ode to Dane Cook)

#16 Do you parallel park or drive around the block for an easier spot?

I used to drive around the block, but recently I've decided I'm an excellent parallel parker.

#17 How often do you clean out your ears?

After developing a severe ear infection from wax build up I know clean my ears everyday after I shower. Just kidding...I would NEVER let the wax build up that much (but I do clean my ears everyday)!!

#18 Do you scruntch or fold your toilet paper?

Depends...#1: scruntch, #2 fold (have to maximize usage)!

#19 Have you ever lied to your mother? (shame on you)

When I was younger, yes.

#20 Do you laugh at yourself when you trip and totally fall on your ass?

What do you think? I just told you I fold my toilet paper when I poop to get the most use out of it....so I'm going to go with YES!

And that's Rita. One thing I should share with you is that Rita and I share an immense love for comedian, Dane Cook. You could call it an obsession, I guess. Actually, yeah, you probably SHOULD call it an obsession. A very unhealthy one, at that. We have both seen Dane live and have been known to bust out random quotes from his comedy routines. So if you happen to be around us when we are peeing our pants and trying to quote stuff between laughs and snorts, please, just let us play in our own little world for a while. No need to be alarmed. We will return to normal..............................someday.
