Joy

I had so many plans for this picture....but my camera has once again pissed me off by being fuzzy. I'm not talking around the edges. I did that. But Carter is extremely fuzzy and I just can't figure this dang thing out!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

We had another exciting night of softball last night. The Aces won again - so far, they are undefeated (4-0)! We spent quite a bit of time playing with Carter, so I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted to. But that's ok - there are plenty more games.
Hard at work, or hardly working? My brother goofin' off in center field.

Ok, that's better!

Dana up to bat.

Carter and me enjoying some time alone.

Dinner for one?

Finally got a good shot of my cousin, Brian, batting. He's the only righty batter in the family, so I had to venture over into enemy territory to get his pictures.

My dad, Eric, and Carter enjoying some trash-talking, I'm sure. It tends to run in our family a little bit! ;-]

Testing, Testing, 1.....2......3

As you certainly noticed, {or, maybe you didn't} the blog has a different layout. Please bear with me - I might go through a couple more changes before deciding on a long-term template. I'm trying to make it as user-friendly as possible........which will not include moving my music player to the top. I have pondered this option, as it has been brought up by numerous people. However, I like it at the bottom because it's out of the way. I don't like the look of it being on the top. And, well, since this is my blog, I kinda get the final vote. Sorry! So.....stay tuned for the new decorations. Please make yourselves comfortable.

Gettin' Goosed!

Yesterday, we packed up Carter for some outdoor time. We spent a little bit of time at the park, swinging and climbing and sliding. We even found two brand new tennis balls. Score!

However, we spent most of our time over at the cemetery, feeding all the birds. ALL the birds. Trust me, we are quite outnumbered there. And yesterday, it got scary. Here is one set of geese. The mamas are flat out rude.

Here, we have our confrontation of the geese and the ducks. The geese were none too happy about the ducks coming over, wanting some food.

And then, if that wasn't enough, we have another group of snotty geese. At this point, we're completely surrounded.

This is about 35 birds too many for my comfort zone.

But dang! Look at the cute little duckies!!

One mama had had enough. She charged us! This picture was actually taken as I was running away. Eric had scooped up Carter, because it was fight or flight and we were outta there! That mama wasn't messing around one bit.

But the babies were soooo cute!

Awwwwwwww. No hissing from these fellas.

And this handsome fella, we saw on the way out. We had walked many of the paved paths throughout the cemetery and saw this guy and his lady friend by one of the irrigation ditches. They clearly wanted to get away from the overpopulated pond......or the mean mama geese. I'm going with the latter.

I LOVE It

My son is now at the age where he loves to wrestle. He and Eric gang up on me, and it's "tackle mommy" time! And can I just say: I.LOVE.IT. Love it!

He loves to tickle me, and pinch my nose, catching me off guard....so then I laugh and it comes out like a pig snort. Which makes HIM laugh even harder.

And I think to myself, this world is a beautiful place. (anyone know who sings that?)

I do, however, get sad because no one is standing by to take pictures of the three of us rolling around in our bed, laughing and peeking out from under the covers to scare each other, laughing even harder, wiggling our toes to "this little piggy", watching my son laugh....because I am responsible for that. HIS happiness. Which, in turn, equates to MY happiness. And I? I am SO happy.
