Thursday was bike adventure day. We decided to head out of Tulum proper and take the beach road down as far as we could. In theory, this sounded amazing. What we didn't realize was that these bikes were so freaking uncomfortable and 5.5 hrs later, we wanted to ditch them along side the road and never ride a bike again. Plus, the roads and sidewalks aren't exactly well-maintained, which makes for a really bumpy ride. However, we made the best of it and explored Tulum "pueblo", as it was called. We stopped several times along the way to explore, have lunch, and to play in the ocean at Playa Mirador.
