Project 52: Week Twelve {sparkle}

I am so late on this one.....and I had the best of intentions with this theme, too! I wanted to go shoot the lights of Boise from Table Rock, but the weather hasn't cooperated. And then I wanted to shoot the stars, but again, the weather didn't allow for this. Then I wanted to shoot actual sparklers, but we didn't have any left over from last 4th of July. Sheesh! So I took a pic with my phone today at work of my ring.....the diamonds sparkle. I'm going cheap for the theme.....my apologies!

Project 52: Week Eleven {Blue}

I really wanted to get out and do some sort of urban shot with a unique blue color, but this week has been full of sickness.  I finally went in to the doctor this morning and resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be scouting the town, looking for my perfect "blue" shot. However, I happen to have a blue-eyed beaty at home who was being a ham for the camera. Perfect, indeed!

Baby Diego {newborn}

I went into this shoot expect so much more. I really need/want to do more newborn photos because I have a clear vision in my head of what I WANT to be taking and they just aren't turning out like that. This one, specifically, because of a lighting issue. The client informed me that their house had an abundant amount of natural light; however, when I showed up, this was not the case. There was clearly a difference in opinion as to what abundant meant. But it was okay - I work with what I had and it was a lesson learned.  Here are some samples:

Project 52: Week Ten {personality}

I totally sucked with last week's theme, which was personality. I'm dealing with a very sick baby, am sick myself, and this project really took the backburner. However, the winner in this house for "personality" goes to the puppy. She is so many things wrapped up into one body.....mellow, calm, protective, jealous, fun, quiet, strong, FAST. I just love her to pieces!

Bathroom Remodel #2

My parents recently remodeled their front bathroom. At the end of 2011, they began the remodel on their back bathroom. They are nearly done.....I think they just need to finish the glass block window and then it can be considered "complete". Oh wait, I lied. They need to finish the door, too. A door for a bathroom is important, yes?

I have somewhat kept up with the process via photos, though not as much I had anticipated. I never got a "before" photo....same as the first remodel. Somehow this slips through the cracks. This bathroom had dark blue wallpaper with a dainty floral design. The tile in the shower was pink. Ask my parents why.....I have no explanation. ;)  The cabinets were dark brown, the countertop was cream, and the vanity was a tri-fold mirror. 1980s, folks. An update was REQUIRED.

Here are the photos I got:

Carter helping his Papa....he even got to go down in the crawlspace!
 Some of the tile work done.
 And the (mostly) finished room....shower

 My parents put a niche in the front bathroom and really loved it.....so this bathroom got one too!

Lisa & Dallas {wedding}

Another indoor (and super quick) wedding with which I struggled. A tiny portion of the church, very limited backgrounds.....fortunately, the family was pretty fun and funny.  Here are some samples.

Project 52: Week Nine {Color}

I was not prepared for this week's theme:  color

However, my eye color is something I would like to discuss. Here is my eye now:

When I was a child, my eyes were the same blue as my kids' eyes. Somewhere along the line, they took on a blue/green color, up until I had Carter. Then they developed a light gold ring right around my pupil. Suddenly, all traces of blue are gone and my eyes appeared totally green (my mom has green eyes, my dad has brown). After I had Kendall, my eyes changed yet again.....the light gold ring turning into a brown one. My eyes almost appear to be turning brown! I know having kids can do some wacky things to your body, but I certainly didn't think my eye color would change!

Kaylee & Trampus {wedding}

I shot this wedding a couple weekends ago, and the editing process has just taken me forever.  Admittedly, I struggle with indoor shoots. Unless it's a totally awesome venue, with endless creative ideas, I struggle. Indoor stuff just doesn't inspire me. And this wedding, along with the reception, were at The Brandt Center at NNU. NNU is a gorgeous campus, but we were strictly limited to The Brandt Center only. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:
