Thanksgiving Break

Randy's girls flew in for Thanksgiving this year, so we had a busy week trying to make the most of their time here.  We had an early birthday celebration for Piper - she turns 18 on Dec 7th - so that everyone could get together to celebrate her.  Randy took all the girls thrifting for hours one day - what a brave soul!  They all survived and found some great treasures.  We also went to dinner and then to see Zootopia 2 down in BODO.  What a great movie!  Then the usual family dinners for Thanksgiving.  And to top it all off, Dana and the boys got a puppy!  He was definitely the star of the show - what a cutie!

The Best We Could Do

For people who complain every single time we do this about how long it takes (it's never more than 30 minutes), this is the best they gave me. 

Even when they do give me something good, I am having to remove middle fingers, etc. Here's the actual best we could do.

Well, this mama got another year of BOTH kids trick or treating and that's just 100% a victory!

Long Beach, Washington trip - day 4

Headed home bright-ish and early, and were immediately greeted with a stunning sunrise. We drove into Portland to see the Oregon Zoo. (no, it's NOT war-ravaged - looked completely normal to me. Turn off Fox News, folks.)  The zoo was incredible - large habitats for the animals, though we missed seeing the polar bear. Not sure where it was hiding - maybe it was still sleeping?
